One drawback with shooting a ported 17 HMR barrel is the increase in muzzle blast. I like the the 335 H&H best for buck hunting.
I got my Kimber 17 HMR last fall at Wal Mart in Kempner. I ordered my Kimber 8400 WSM in the hunting section at Gart Sports in Kempner, Florida. My desired caliber is probably the 17 HMR from Dick’s Sporting Goods in Kempner. There is a new edition of my new Kimber 8400 WSM with the checkered birchwood chambered in 335 H&H and 17 HMR.

Missouri Deer Hunting Season
My prized rifle is everything made by Mossberg. My friend (Bryce) said his pet caliber is the 7mm Dakota he got at a DU banquet last season.
My Dad’s most popular caliber for groundhogs out to 300-400 yards is anything in a 7mm Dakota. I used to like leupold the best and Nikon and Burris are tied for 2nd on my Mossberg 45 ACP rifles.
